Jurgen Klopp has offered an injury update on Liverpool in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Bournemouth meeting at Anfield.

Scott Parker’s Bournemouth will make a visit to Anfield to face Liverpool on Saturday. Klopp & Co. will have the first win of the season on their agenda having drawn twice and lost one so far.

The distressing injury list has had an immense effect on Liverpool’s results so far. The Reds are currently without nine players due to injury and Darwin Nunez is suspended.

The injury crisis for Liverpool has limited Klopp’s option on the pitch and results so far in three games showed how much we have missed all the injured players.

Ahead of the game against the Cherries, Klopp updated he is not expecting any players to return to his matchday squad on Saturday. However, he did offer positive news on the likes of Thiago, Matip, and Curtis Jones.

Speaking in the press conference, Klopp says:

This weekend probably not, but after that Joel, Curtis [likely to be back] and Thiago [is] not too far away.

Diogo is getting closer, Caoimh will be in training next week. Positive news but don’t think anybody will be ready for tomorrow.

Meanwhile, with Keita’s issue, the news was not as positive as the club is still yet to discover the severity of the muscle injury.

Speaking about Keita, Klopp said

Naby will not be ready for the weekend, of course not,

We still need to look exactly how long it will take. It’s a muscle [injury]. Still not 100 percent clear, but he will not be in for the next week.

The injury list of the Reds

Caoimhin Kelleher – Out but “will be in training next week”

Ibrahima Konate – OutJoel Matip – Out but next in line to return

Calvin Ramsay – Out

Thiago – Out but “not too far away”

Curtis Jones – Out but next in line to return

Naby Keita – Out, uncertain “exactly how long it will take”

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – Out

Liverpool does miss Diogo Jota who can acts as a natural finisher up front. It will be interesting to see if Klopp changes the formation until the Reds have their full squad back.
