Injury update on Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott

Elliott injury update

Anfield Home has received an injury update on Liverpool’s young midfielder Harvey Elliott. This season, Elliot displayed a promising performance before his injury on matchday 4.

On 12th September 2021, the Reds went to Elland Road to face Leeds United after a 1-1 draw against Chelsea, in the 60th minute, Leeds defender Pascal Struijk tackles Elliot.

The tackle left Elliot to suffer on the pitch with a nasty fracture-dislocation of his left ankle. He underwent surgery and he’s working on rehabilitation since then. Liverpool’s midfield woes started from this injury as Thiago, Fabinhio, James Milner, Naby Keita, and Curtis Jones all got injured in the following matches.

Injury update on Harvey Elliott

It’s been almost three months since Elliot’s left ankle was fractured and badly out of position. It is surprising to see the 18-year-old is consistent and focused on getting better. Many pundits said that he’ll be out for the rest of the season, but that’s not the case now.

This Is Anfield unveiled last month that Elliott is expecting to be back on training in January. While James Pearce Confirms this in The Athletic.

Pearce Says that

If everything continues to go smoothly he should be given the green light to take part in full training next month.

It will be a big boost for Liverpool to have their young midfielder back on the pitch. As he may fight for his starting place in the playing 11 with Henderson and Thiago.

Since his arrival from Fulham in 2019, Elliot has made 13 senior team appearances for the Reds. He also has two assists under his name. However, he is yet to score for the Reds.

With Festive season around the corner, and with Salah and Mane leaving for the African cup of Nations, Liverpool needs all their players at the deck to avoid any setbacks in the title race and avoid further injuries. Thus, as things stand, Elliott will be back in full training with the team in the next month.
