The UEFA Champions League draws are out and the Europen nights are set to return to Anfield as Liverpool will be tieing their knots with Atletico Madrid, FC Porto and AC Milan in group B.
The 2018-19 Champion League winners will be eager to add yet another European trophy on their Champions wall. As winning the title 6 times, Liverpool are the most successful English club when it comes to European competition.
Speaking about the draws, Liverpool will yet again meet the Spanish club Atletico Madrid, who knocked out the Reds during the 2019-20 Champions League campaign. With this, the fans will see the return of former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez returning to Anfiled.
Alongside Atletico, the two time Chamipons League winners FC Porto will make the group more challenging. Adding on to make the group more competitive is the Italian side AC Milan, With a rich history of success in this Compitition, Milan will be summing up the group as one of the toughest to get through the knock out rounds.
Jurgen Klopp’s reaction on the Champions League draws of Liverpool
The former Premier League champions will have to fight to finish on the top 2 spots in the group. Meanwhile, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was laughing out loud when the draws were announced. Expressing his thoughts on the Champions League draws Jurgen Klopp said
“I laughed, to be honest, pretty loud because it is a tough group obviously. “It’s Champions League, so that’s how it is, and you have to play the best teams in Europe, and obviously some of them are in our group!“
Looking at the exciting ties Klopp further added
“So, I think our supporters should be looking forward to it – we do, for sure.”
