Major Thiago boost for Liverpool following Spain national team declaration

Thiago Spain

Thiago being left out of the national team of Spain for the September break is what Liverpool and the fans were hoping for.

Injury-prone Thiago can be a problem for Enrique’s Spain

The 31-year-old has had ongoing fitness problems throughout his first two years at Anfield. And this was only his third start of the year.

There were worries that Spain boss Luis Enrique would choose the No. 6 for their next UEFA Nations League matches due to his improved health and form.

But the news that Thiago got left out of the 25-man squad revealed on Friday morning has some people feeling relieved.

Some surprise absences in the Spanish squad for September

La Roja is presently in first place in League A Group 2. They have accumulated eight points—two victories and two draws—from their four games.

Several injured players, including strikers Gerard Moreno, Mikel Oyarzabal, and Dani Olmo, who helped Spain advance to the semifinals of the European Championship last year, were unavailable to Luis Enrique besides the No. 6 of Liverpool.

The striker Ansu Fati, who had little playing time for Barcelona but is anticipated to be in Qatar, is the most notable absentee. Sergio Ramos, a former captain, was also not picked by Luis Enrique either.

Major relief for The Reds for their upcoming games

Enrique seems to no longer be interested in a player he once coached. It will undoubtedly disappoint Thiago.

However, with the playmaker now allowed to recover during the international break, it is a significant help for Liverpool.

Before taking a break because of the competition in Qatar, the Reds are scheduled for 9 games in October. Furthermore, there are three Champions League group matches. And 4 more matches in November.

If Thiago is able to remain healthy over that stretch, it could be essential for Liverpool. Especially to turn around their season following a disastrous start.
