Benjamin Keith Davies (Ben Davies) will be joining the relegated Sheffield United on a season-long loan for the 2021-22 campaign.

The Liverpool defender has not even played a single minute in any competitive competition for the Reds so far. Davies was brought to Anfield in January alongside Ozan Kabak to fill the holes left by the injury crises. However, the former Preston North End defender himself became the victim and thus eventually ended up joining the injury list.

With the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Joe Gomez, and the new signing Ibrahima Konate, it was always going to be a tough path for Ben Davies to make it to the first team. Thus, the recently turned 26-years-old affirmed that gaining some playing time and moving to Bramall Lane will be good for his career.

Ben Davies on Joining Sheffield United

Ben Davies expressed his thoughts over his decision to Join The Blades on the official Sheffield United website saying

“The whole set-up there is incredible. The club is like you wouldn’t believe until you actually get in there and see it for yourself. So I’ve had a good six months or so, but playing football is the most important thing to any footballer.

On explaining his decision he further added saying

“That’s what got me driven to come out on loan and hopefully play some games and get back enjoying that competitive side again.”

Davies is still under a contract with Liverpool Football Club until 2025. Thus, talking about his appearances for the former Premier League champions, he did indeed was a part of the team in the Pre-season friendlies. Davies made 2 appearances for the Reds in the pre-season. It includes the one against Osasuna in front of the Anfield crowd.

Ben Davies will return to Liverpool after the 2021-22 campaign comes to an end.
