Mohamed Salah has opened up about the discipline and habits that drive his success both on and off the pitch.
Speaking at a book event in Sharjah, UAE, the Liverpool star shared how reading has been a crucial part of his journey, shaping his mindset and helping him navigate the pressures of elite sport.

“In life, nothing comes easy. One needs to have discipline and consistency to achieve their dreams,” Salah remarked. The Egyptian forward highlighted the challenges of maintaining top-level performance, saying: “Not every day on the field is your best day. Sometimes the performance is not up to the mark… then the fear of pressure creeps in.”
Salah revealed that reading has been a transformative practice for him. “The more you read, the more your self-confidence builds up. It is reading that ultimately contributed to the development of myself as a player.”
He explained that it’s not just about football-related materials but also about understanding life and building a calm, focused mindset.
Liverpool’s coaching staff also emphasise education and learning. “We at the club read about optimal training regimens, nutritional guidelines, and the importance of developing healthy habits,” Salah added. He noted that these lessons aren’t just for athletes but are valuable for everyone.
