Liverpool have reportedly made ‘concrete steps’ in extending long-pending contract of star player Mohamed Salah according to sources.
The Reds will be looking horns with Newcastle United in a midweek PL clash tonight as they look forward to extend their lead at the top of the points table.
As of now, the Merseysiders have accumulated 34 points in just 13 matches, scoring 26 goals and conceding only 8.
Much of the scoring can be attributed to the star forward Mohamed Salah, as his exceptional goalscoring abilities has been seen across all competitions.
In the PL only, the Egyptian King has bagged 11 goals and assisted seven in just 13 appearances. The winger boasts a 0.85 goals per game and even at 32 looks effortlessly effective offensively.
However, the dilemma his contract extension has been worrying as his future looks uncertain at Anfield.
The constant growing interest from Saudi Pro League adds to the seriousness of the situation as well.

Liverpool progressing with Mohamed Salah contract extension
The Egyptian international has made his desire to stay at the Merseyside public by speaking on multiple occasion.
Salah will reportedly want to sign a two-year extension as sources have confirmed his ‘great dream’ is to achieve the Ballon d’Or.
In order to do so, he needs to play regular European football and Liverpool is the club who looks to be a regular in the UCL.
Additionally, the 32-year-old is really happy to play under Arne Slot’s coaching as he is ‘positively stimulated’ by the Dutchman’s influence. These factors are instrumental in decision-making for both parties.
Contract negotiations will accelerate in the coming few days so an agreement is reached by the end of December.
