Watford welcomed in-form Liverpool at the Vicarage Road, where the Reds thrashed the Hornets 0-5.

Liverpool was dominant throughout the game by bossing the midfield and attack against Watford. Thanks to a hattrick from Booby Firmino and goals from Sadio Mane and Mo Salah.

Liverpool continued their unbeaten record of 20 games in all competition.

Goal Keepers and Defenders

Caoimhin Kelleher (GK) – 6/10

Second appearance of the season with a clean sheet, not a bad day at the office for Kelleher. The keeper made fine saves, especially the last-minute fingertip save on to the post.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB) – 9/10

Trent played neatly, displayed typical savvy chemistry with Mohamed Salah in terms of underlapping and overlapping moves. Although he wasn’t very inventive he also didn’t need to be at the top of his game.

Joel Matip (CB) – 7/10

A calm and composed performance from the Cameroonian international. Matip was good at reading Watford’s attack and won almost every air deul. His overall chemistry with VVD was great as always.

Virgil Van Dijk (CB) – 7/10

An average joe day for VVD, ending the game with a 93% pass rate, he never lets us down. Virgil was as usual great in interceptions, organizing backlines, and commanding offside traps.

Andy Robertson (LB) – 6/10

A quiet day for Andrew at the left-wing. The scot had a knock on his ankle but continued swiftly for one hour. An average passing, defending, and attacking on the left-hand side, the Scottish had to be taken off in the second half.

Midfield

Jordan Henderson (CDM) – 6/10

With the absence of Fabinho, Hendo did a fabulous job. He helped the visitors regain control of the game Few of his typical first-time passes were displayed effectively and widened play beautifully at times. On the few occasions when Watford threatened, he kept the squad together.

James Milner (CM) – 8/10

A busy day for Milner on the left-hand side of the field. The grandmaster worked tirelessly and helped Liverpool create many chances. His assist to Firmino was indeed a cherry on top.

Naby Keita (CM) – 7/10

After staying out for long, Keita’s performance is justified. Won five duels, made a few tackles and created chances on goal. Overall it was a solid performance and a good start to the season from the Guinean footballer.

Forward

Mohamed Salah (RW) – 9/10

Quoted as the best in the world by the german after the match, Mo Salah again proved why Liverpool should offer him a bumper contract. The skipper scored a beauty and settled up the opener for Mane, it was indeed a Man of the Match performance by the Egyptian.

Sadio Mane (LW) – 8/10

Scored his 100th Premier League goal, Mane was outclassing Watford’s defence for the whole 90 minutes. He developed good chemistry with Milner. A job well done by the Senegalese.

Roberto Firmino (CF) – 9/10

Hattrick, BOOM!! HAHA, yet another cheeky display from the Brazillian. Firmino made brilliant runs between Watford’s defence. This hattrick was a much-needed confidence booster for the Brazil international.

Substitutes

Kostas Tsimikas (64th Min) – 6/10

Replaced the quiet Andy, Kostas helped Liverpool in the final quarter of the game and increased the tempo and rhythm on the left flank. Although there were some nervy instances, he helped Andy get some rest for the Atleti clash.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (64th Min) – 6/10

Was brought on and replaced Trent, Alex did well to keep the flow of midfield intact. Got dispossessed a few times but played a key role in the fifth goal.

Neco Williams ( 83rd Min) – 6/10

Replaced the grandmaster Milner, Neco wasn’t long enough on the pitch but surely he made an assist to his name by setting up perfectly to Firmino.
