Even with a tough first half, Arne Slot and his squad had another promising victory against the Wolves with a 2-1 finish. Soon after the final whistle blew, Ryan Gravenberch added another MOTM award to his gallery of accolades.
Apart from being a flawless gem with his defensive skills, the Dutchman proved his worth in Saturday’s match. He took some time to adapt after transfer from Bayern Munich and now he is in his best form.
Ryan Gravenberch got the MOTM award for a reason
The Merseyside Club had a tough but successful win yesterday at the Molineux Stadium against the Wolves. Konate and Mo Salah might be the flagbearers of 2-1 victory but, someone else gained all the attention.
Soon after the Premier League match, Ryan Gravenberch got the MOTM award. Now, in case you are wondering about the math, let me tell you something before we get there. Ryan knows how to draw contact, an underrated quality; he is the only midfielder who had 4 fouls committed against him.

• 100% aerial duels won, 1/1
• 92% pass accuracy
• 6 recoveries
• 3/3 tackles won

There are some pretty good reasons why Gravenberch deserves the MOTM. Ryan won 8/8 duels, of which 7 were ground duels and one was aerial. He won all 3/3 tackles while keeping the Wolves at bay.
The 22-year-old successfully found teammates with 57/62 passes (92% success). FotMob rated Ryan a solid 7.7/10 following his surprising defense stats.
However, Gravenberch and his stats prove why he became the MOTM after yesterday’s match. Even if the Dutch International star did not score any goal, his defensive statistics are a shining example. After the match, Konate even jokingly claimed that he should get the Man of the match award since he scored.
