Liverpool are reportedly considering a shock move regarding Andy Robertson’s future at the club.
The Scot’s contract runs until 2026. Robertson joined Liverpool in 2017 and quickly became the first-choice left-back.
He has held that position ever since. Despite Kostas Tsimikas arriving years ago, Robertson has never faced a serious challenge for his role. That could change soon. Liverpool are actively looking for a new left-back this summer.

Kerkez set to replace Robertson
Milos Kerkez is heavily linked with the club. Robertson recently turned 31, and his high-energy game appears to be slowing.
His form has dipped in recent months. Previously, fans expected Tsimikas to leave this summer. That would allow him to compete with the incoming left-back.
However, Greek journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos claims Liverpool might keep Tsimikas. At least three Premier League clubs want him. Liverpool haven’t decided to sell Tsimikas yet.
A surprise exit could happen
That opens the door for a surprising Robertson exit. Keeping Tsimikas and signing a new left-back may push Robertson out.
Liverpool are unlikely to keep all three. Selling Andy would be a bold choice. Tsimikas is younger but has never fully convinced as a starter.
Robertson has just one year left on his contract. Liverpool may look to cash in now. Another option is keeping Robertson and avoiding a left-back signing.
That would also come as a surprise. Liverpool’s decision this summer could reshape their left side. Slot’s system may demand fresher legs.
Robertson remains a fan favourite. However, long-term planning may force Liverpool to move on. Tsimikas offers depth and potential but lacks consistency. Still, his age and contract length may appeal more.
Liverpool’s final decision remains unclear. But a change at left-back seems inevitable under Arne Slot. A surprise could be on the way. Andy Robertson’s Liverpool career may soon reach its end.
