LeBron James link-up seems good for the future of Liverpool Football Club

After LeBron James became the NBA’s all-time top scorer, Liverpool revealed a brand-new apparel line in conjunction with him.

James, a vocal supporter of Liverpool who now has a modest investment in Fenway Sports Group after previously owning shares in the club, recently made headlines by donning a new sneaker inspired by the team during the Los Angeles Lakers’ game against the New York Knicks last week.

King James, who surpassed the legendary Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to record 38,390 points in the NBA, has now inspired Liverpool to develop a whole apparel collection.

Alisson, Andy Robertson, Jordan Henderson, Fabio Carvalho, and women’s forward Shanice van de Sanden from the Liverpool first team, as well as James himself, model the line. James has recently worn the jersey and the shoes before LA Lakers games. New James-inspired shirts, shorts, basketball, streetwear, and footwear are all part of the offering.

Henderson:

“I’m a big fan of LeBron and all he’s achieved to become one of the greatest basketball players in history. It’s great to see the link-up with LFC and to be a part of this exciting collaboration with the club.”

Shanice van de Sanden:

“I’m really proud to be a football player for Liverpool FC and to see this collaboration is very cool. It’s also more than just a collaboration, there’s something behind it: an inspiring message of ‘strive for greatness’.”

James is a big LFC fan

LeBron is a huge Liverpool supporter and a portion owner of the team after purchasing 2% of its stock in 2011. In addition, he is a partner of the Fenway Sports Group and is frequently spotted sporting a Liverpool jersey or the team’s tracksuit.

He does not frequently appear at Anfield, although he has gone there to see Liverpool play. In October 2011, he paid his first visit to Anfield and saw the Reds play Manchester United. He told his Twitter followers after the game how going to Anfield solidified his devotion to the team.
