Liverpool Set To Sign Long-Term Andy Robertson Replacement?
According to reports, Liverpool are showing interest in signing 19 y/o Julio Soler this summer. He is viewed as a long-term replacement for Andy Robertson.
His impressive performance in the Olympics for Argentina attracted interest from several clubs who were willing to sign the 19 y/o.
Liverpool Set To Sign Julio Soler?
Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes in his press conference mentioned that the ongoing international tournaments are the reason for no transfer activity. He had also mentioned the Olympics as a reason.
Now fans have connected that statement of his to the latest links with Julio Soler. Soler was part of Argentina’s Olympic squad. Soler has now returned to Argentina after the Olympics exit against France.
It was Argentine journalist German Garcia Grova who reported that Liverpool are interested in Julio Soler.
Soler currently plays for Argentine club Lanus and the club will accept a £12m bid for Soler.
The 19 y/o came through the ranks at Lanus and was promoted to the first team last season. He made 36 appearances for the club last season.
Although Andy Robertson is still the favourite left-back at the club, Soler will be viewed as a long-term replacement. Kostas Tsimikas’s future is uncertain.
As of now, Lanus has not received any bid from Liverpool for Julio Soler and the club still expects him to be part of their squad next season.
The 19 y/o was the captain of Argentina U20 and he starts regularly now for his club Lanus in Argentina.
