Adrien Rabiot rejects Juventus’ contract offer, eyes Liverpool move, among others, seeking €9m wages, could significantly bolster Liverpool midfield strength amid transfer interest.
The French Midfielder Opens The Door
Adrien Rabiot has officially turned down Juventus’ final contract offer, marking the end of his tenure with the Italian giants and opening the door for negotiations with several top clubs.
The French international, who has been a key figure in Juventus’ midfield since joining as a free agent in 2019, had allowed his contract to run down last summer before signing a new one-year deal.
This time, however, he rejected the club’s offer of €7 million per season plus €1 million in add-ons, as he seeks a more lucrative deal, reportedly around €9 million per season.
A Vital Player In The Club
Juventus had hoped to keep him, especially after Euro 2024, but Rabiot decided to move on, with a formal announcement of his decision expected on Thursday.
Rabiot’s departure marks the end of a significant chapter at Juventus, where he made 212 competitive appearances, scoring 22 goals and providing 15 assists.
During his time in Turin, he helped the team secure one Scudetto, one Supercoppa Italiana, and two Coppa Italia titles.
Despite Juventus’ efforts to retain him, the club’s financial constraints meant they could not meet his wage demands.
As a result, Rabiot is now ready to begin negotiations with several interested clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Milan, and Antonio Conte’s Napoli.
Rabiot Will Be A Valuable Asset For Liverpool
Liverpool, in particular, could greatly benefit from Rabiot’s experience and versatility in midfield.
The Reds are in the process of rebuilding their squad under new management, and Rabiot’s skill set aligns well with their needs.
His ability to play both defensively and offensively in the midfield would add depth and flexibility to Liverpool’s lineup.
Furthermore, with the club’s recent struggles in maintaining consistency and dealing with injuries, Rabiot’s arrival could provide much-needed stability.
Given Liverpool’s financial strength compared to Serie A clubs, they are well-positioned to meet Rabiot’s wage demands, making Anfield a likely destination for the Frenchman.
