Liverpool Are Doing Their Best To Sign Anthony Gordon
Arne Slot might have turned a lot of heads with his decisions and the recent training program. But there is one place where the Dutchman still needs to improve and do his best.
Even when the summer transfer window is coming to an end, Liverpool have not yet been able to bag Anthony Gordon for their squad. But one thing is for sure, the club is making efforts to sign Gordon.
Initially, the Newcastle F.C. star was allowed for transfer only by an exchange deal along with the transfer fee. But LFC are not keen on losing an instrumental man like Jarell Quansah.
After that, Anfield was probably planning to include Caoimhin Kelleher in the deal. But, the goalkeeper is also an asset for the Reds, considering his penalty shootout saves starting in 2015.
There were transfer rumours that suggested Liverpool are trying to get Anthony Gordon by taking Kelleher and £50 million.
But, the team needs this player and Arne Slot will have to choose a new way if he wants Gordon. Football Insider has reported that Newcastle F.C. want £70 million. It is quite higher than what the Reds could have ever asked.
The 23-year-old Newcastle Forward has always been a fan of the Merseyside club, as confirmed by Ian Duke of Everton. Anthony Gordon himself wants to join Liverpool, and it’s a clear choice for him.
He can be a great asset alongside attackers like Cody Gakpo or Luis Diaz. Now, it’s totally up to Slot and his team to make this offer concrete.
