A new face was spotted during the Liverpool training session ahead of the Leeds matchup on Wednesday.

Liverpool are currently on an 11 game unbeaten streak as they look to reduce the difference between them and Manchester City to three points.

The Reds are also looking forward to a League cup final against Chelsea on the 27th of February.

Observations from Liverpool training session

But before they play Chelsea, Liverpool host Leeds United on Wednesday. Leeds have been in really poor form, winning only one of their last six games.

In the training session before the game, a new face was spotted on Kirkby. The 18-year-old midfielder Dominic Corness was seen training with the Liverpool first team.

Nicknamed ‘the wand’, Corness is unlikely to get game time against Leeds but it is still a big thing for the youngster.

There was an injury scare for Curtis Jones, who has been omitted since the game against Leicester City. However, the youngster was seen in the Liverpool training session, reassuring the fans.

The training also sprung up a few funny moments. For example, giant centre-back Virgil Van Dijk nutmegged recent record-breaker Mohammed Salah during a game of rondo.

Van Dijk, however, was not the only defender at the Liverpool training doing nutmegs. Joel Matip nutmegged defender Tsimikas and reacted by saying “Yeehaw!” to make sure the cameras noticed him.

Has the defender, who James Milner called “the world’s top meme generator”, given us another gem?

It looks like it was a fun training session of Centre-backs as Ibrahima Konate was seen showcasing his goalscoring skills. The defender took the ball from the defence to attack as he almost ripped the net apart after turning Fabinho.

Luis Diaz on the other hand has had a rough start to life in England. While he has shined on the pitch, scoring a goal against Norwich, he is still to get used to the weather.

The new signing was seen in gloves again during the training visibly still uncomfortable with the weather.
