Mohamed Salah and Alisson Becker are back at Liverpool’s AXA Training Centre, offering promising updates ahead of the Reds’ upcoming fixtures.
Salah, who skipped Egypt’s international duty due to injury concerns over an artificial pitch in Cape Verde, utilized the break for a mix of rest and professional engagements, including a trip to the Sharjah Book Fair. After some downtime with his family at Disneyland, Salah returned to Kirkby early to resume training. He shared a glimpse of his gym work on social media.

The Brazilian goalkeeper is working his way back from a hamstring injury sustained in October. Recent indications suggest Alisson is increasing the intensity of his rehabilitation, fueling hopes of a return soon.
While his availability for Sunday’s Premier League clash against Southampton remains uncertain, reports hint at a potential return for Liverpool’s No. 1. In his absence, Caoimhin Kelleher has excelled, helping Liverpool secure six wins in seven matches since Alisson’s injury.

Manager Arne Slot is unlikely to rush the 32-year-old back, given Kelleher’s stellar performances. But Alisson’s return would be a timely boost as the Reds face a grueling run of fixtures. The list includes Real Madrid, Manchester City, Newcastle, and Everton.
On the injury front, Liverpool also await updates on Trent Alexander-Arnold, Diogo Jota, and Federico Chiesa. Also, Harvey Elliott already back in full training. Thankfully, no new injuries have been reported during the international break. Though Virgil van Dijk’s workload continues to be managed carefully.
As Liverpool gear up for the resumption of domestic football, the early returns of key players like Salah and the encouraging progress of Alisson signal a positive step towards maintaining their momentum in a crucial period of the season.
