Mid-season friendly plans are in order as Liverpool are set to meet the Italian giants in Dubai.

Mid-season friendly plans for Liverpool

A high-profile mid-season friendly between Liverpool and AC Milan is on the move for Dubai. The Reds will attempt to maximize their break during the Qatar World Cup by scheduling the game in the month of December.

Jurgen Klopp’s team will have several players away on international duty. But they still aim to keep the absentees in top form. Thus, a friendly game is planned, and Liverpool’s potential opponents been mentioned as being the defending Serie A winners AC Milan.

The city of Dubai is the host and no one knows why. Players who are not participating in the World Cup will just need to take a brief trip from Qatar.

Alisson, Fabinho, and Roberto Firmino, three Brazilian players, are all expected to compete in the World Cup. While Virgil van Dijk, Darwin Nunez, and Diogo Jota are also anticipated to receive calls from their respective sides.

However, none of Liverpool’s English players may play in Qatar. Trent Alexander-Arnold is among them. Even if he didn’t receive a call-up to the Three Lions group.

A much-needed break?

Liverpool’s Premier League season didn’t see a pleasing kick-off. With only two victories in their first eight games, leaving them in the tenth position.

The Reds defeated Bournemouth in a record-setting 9-0 thrashing to announce their presence after going winless in their first three games.

That, however, turned out to be a false dawn, as the Reds won only once more in their subsequent four games.

Their Champions League start saw a 4-1 loss. However, they have since bounced back to win three back-to-back UCL fixtures.

The most recent action saw Liverpool defeating Rangers in a 7-1 rout, which came just a few days after a 3-2 league setback to Arsenal.

As a result, Jurgen Klopp and company will benefit greatly from the international break as they seek to refocus and return to their campaign stronger in the second half of the season.
