Diogo Jota absent from training due to foot injury
Live from AXA training center, Sky Sports reporter Vinny O’Connor has confirmed Jota has sustained a foot injury. However Darwin Nunez is back after missing out last match against Wolves due to injury.
“Unfortunately they have [injury concerns]. If I step out of the way you’ll be able to see that one bit of good news is that Darwin Nunez is back in training, he obviously missed the game against Wolves through illness. One player you won’t see out there is Diogo Jota. That’s because he picked up a bit of a foot injury. Now, what we’re told. He’s had a scan, the scans come back clear, but he’s just not training today.” said Vinny O’Connor on Diogo Jota injury via Sky Sports
Nothing serious for Jota as the scans have come back clear, however Slot might give him a rest tomorrow. Arne Slot has Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo to call upon in his absence. We can expect Federico Chiesa to get some gametime tomorrow. With the injury to Diogo Jota not considered serious, we might see him back against Crystal Palace.
