Liverpool have officially submitted their 21-man Premier League squad for the second half of the 2024/25 season, making only one minor adjustment.
As the Reds continue their push for domestic and European glory, their squad remains largely unchanged, with just midfielder Tom Hill dropping out following his permanent transfer to Harrogate Town in January.
Arne Slot’s side are currently leading the Premier League table. He have shown immense consistency in their squad selection, reinforcing their trust in the existing lineup.
With the Reds balancing their league aspirations alongside cup commitments—including an upcoming Carabao Cup final and FA Cup fourth-round tie against Plymouth—the stability of the squad is crucial.
A key feature of the squad submission process is the Premier League’s homegrown player rule. The rule allows a maximum of 17 non-homegrown players in a 25-man squad. Liverpool’s squad includes six homegrown players: Caoimhin Kelleher, Vitezslav Jaros, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Curtis Jones, and Tyler Morton.
Meanwhile, younger talents such as Conor Bradley, Jarell Quansah, Harvey Elliott, James McConnell, Trey Nyoni, and Rio Ngumoha are included under the U21 bracket. This will ensure additional squad flexibility.
Notable change: Hill departs, Ngumoha steps up
The only player omitted from the squad is 21-year-old midfielder Tom Hill. He sealed a permanent move to League Two side Harrogate Town. Hill made his senior debut in 2019.
He struggled with long-term injuries before making his way back into the squad. However, his exit opened the door for 16-year-old Rio Ngumoha, who has been added to Liverpool’s Champions League knockout stage squad.

Ngumoha was signed from Chelsea’s academy last summer. He has already broken records by becoming Liverpool’s second-youngest starting player and the club’s youngest-ever representative in the FA Cup.
Further, his performances impressed Slot, earning him a place in the European squad. As Liverpool look ahead to their last-16 tie against one of Benfica, Monaco, Brest, or Paris Saint-Germain.

Liverpool’s full 21-man squad includes key names like Alisson, Van Dijk, Salah, Diaz, and Chiesa, with a mix of experienced stars and promising young talent. The Reds’ focus now shifts to the Merseyside derby against Everton, a crucial fixture in their quest for Premier League glory.
