Liverpool look set to complete a loan deal for their youngster Jayden Danns on transfer deadline day, offering him the opportunity to gain crucial first-team experience at Sunderland.

As the forward is seeking more game-time, LFC are prepared to approve a loan move away from Merseyside for the remainder of the season.

Given the wealth of attacking talent at Arne Slot’s disposal, the Reds have determined that a loan move for Danns would be the most beneficial step for his development.

This decision allows him to gain valuable playing time and experience, which might be harder to come by with the current depth in Liverpool’s squad.

Jayden Danns has played four times for Liverpool this season, netting once in the 4-0 FA Cup victory over Accrington Stanley.

Why did Jayden Danns depart on deadline day for Sunderland?

Multiple clubs have expressed interest in securing the services of the player. Arne Slot revealed last week that negotiations were in progress and as the transfer window nears its close, Danns is expected to make his move.

According to reports, former Premier League side Sunderland are currently at the forefront of the race to sign the teenager, with several other Championship clubs expressing interest in signing the 19-year-old for the rest of the campaign.

However, Sunderland have emerged as the frontrunners to secure Danns on loan for the rest of the season, with the Rokerites now considered the favourites to complete the deal.

Sunderland are enjoying an impressive debut season under manager Regis Le Bris.

The Black Cats currently sit in 4th place in the Championship, comfortably holding onto a playoff spot, as they are 11 points ahead of Middlesbrough in 7th place.

If the striker makes his move to Sunderland on deadline day, he could make his debut for the Black Cats as early as Saturday, when then they welcome Watford to the Stadium of Light.
