The bid rejected by Liverpool for their star player revealed

Before the Premier League began, LFC acquired a new goalkeeper after deals with Georgian International. Now, we have come to know that Liverpool rejected a transfer deal they got for Caoimhin Kelleher.

The Reds have recently signed Mamardashvili after a good deal, but he will not be able to play for Anfield till 2025. In the meantime, Slot’s squad will have to depend on Kelleher and Becker.

Contrary to popular belief, LFC is doing wonders in the 2024-25 Premier League season under the Dutchman. Still, Arne Slot’s squad lacks in the summer transfer window for bringing in some of the popular names.

According to reports, the Reds received a transfer deal regarding their goalkeeper. Liverpool apparently received a bid for Caoimhin Kelleher, but they rejected it in the end. Nottingham Forest and Matt Turner came along with a bid of just £7 million. This revelation has now raised the eyebrows of most fans and football enthusiasts.

According to James Pearce, this was the exact nature of the deal that was sent to LFC at the end of their transfer window. Of course, it was very clear that Liverpool was not ready to give up Caoimhin Kelleher and that’s why, they rejected it.

The 25-year-old Irish professional goalkeeper recently put up a dashing performance in his latest match of Ireland vs England. Even though England won 2-0, Kelleher played for 90 minutes and made 7 successful saves till the end.

The Reds have a number of goalkeepers in their hands now. Be it Alisson Becker, Mamardashvili or Kelleher, they have their hands full. Recently we came to know about the bid they rejected or Kelleher.

While talking about his place in LFC, the star goalkeeper made his stand very clear. Now, Caoimhin Kelleher wants to leave Liverpool since the Reds have already signed Giorgi Mamardashvili.

“The club made the decision to get another goalkeeper. From the outside looking in, it looks like they have made a decision to go in another direction.

“My ambition has always been clear the last few seasons, that I want to be a number one. It looks like it is 100 per cent my decision but at times it is not always in my hands.”
