Liverpool tops two key Premier League stats chart this season

Liverpool are closing in on the Premier League title this season, and they’re not just doing it with flair — they’re doing it with numbers that speak louder than words.

With the most goals scored and the most clean sheets kept, the Reds are leading where it matters most.

Under new boss Arne Slot, the Merseyside club has found a rhythm that fans haven’t seen since their 2019/20 title-winning campaign.

While there are still matches to be played, Liverpool already stand out statistically.

They’ve hit the back of the net 75 times, more than any other side. Even Manchester City, known for their attacking strength, sit behind them with 64 goals.

At the same time, Liverpool’s defense has stood tall with 14 clean sheets — the highest in the league. Nottingham Forest surprisingly come second with 13.

That balance between scoring and shutting teams out has made Liverpool the league’s most complete team this season.

Liverpool’s recent win over Leicester is a prime example. They dominated the match with 28 shots to Leicester’s five, and Trent Alexander-Arnold’s thunderous strike in the 76th minute sealed the deal.

It was his first-ever left-footed goal, and it came at the perfect moment — almost like it was written in the stars.

Liverpool 2024/25 Premier League season compared to 2019/20

The goal not only confirmed Leicester’s relegation but also gave Liverpool their 24th win of the campaign.

Only in 2018/19 and the 2019/20 title season did they have more wins at this stage.

Comparisons to the 2019/20 squad are hard to ignore. Virgil van Dijk continues to be the rock at the back, leading the team in minutes played, passes made, and defensive stability. Mohamed Salah is once again the top scorer. Some things really never change.

Even off the field, Liverpool are preparing like champions.

The squad is planning to watch Arsenal’s match against Crystal Palace together. If Arsenal slip up, Liverpool could be crowned champions without kicking another ball.

And yes, just like in 2020, a title party could be brewing.
