5 Liverpool players who will be training at the AXA during the international break
The September international break is here after 3 Premier League games and the majority of Liverpool players have gone to represent their respective countries.
Arne Slot & Co is off to a flying start with 3 wins in a row including a derby win against Manchester United.
A large number of first-team players will be representing their respective nations. However, a number of players who will not be representing their countries will be available at the AXA training centre.
5 Liverpool players training at the AXA during the international break
Federico Chiesa
Liverpool’s new signing Federico Chiesa will not be joining Italy’s squad for their matches against France and Israel. He will use this time to work on his fitness and get used to the Liverpool style.
Italy manager Luciano Spalletti has confirmed Chiesa is not part of the Italy squad as Chiesa wanted to use this time to work on his fitness with Liverpool.
Joe Gomez
The 27-year-old stayed at Liverpool amidst rumours of his exit from the club. Gomez is yet to feature in a Premier League game under new manager Arne Slot. The Liverpool defender has not been called to the England squad for their matches against Ireland and Finland during the international break.
Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones missed the last two matches due to injury and he will not be called up to England’s U21 squad. Jones still awaits his three Lions senior team debut.
Vitezslav Jaros
The third-choice goalkeeper for Liverpool will be at the AXA during the international break as the 23 year old has not been called by Czechia for their matches against Georgia and Ukraine.
Darwin Nunez
Liverpool’s No.9 Darwin Nunez received a five-game ban from CONMEBOL for his role in a brawl after Uruguay’s Copa America semifinal against Colombia. As a result the Liverpool forward will be at the AXA during international break.
