Liverpool looking to strengthen their defense with £40m Premier League left-back linked

Liverpool will start talks with Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez as a priority target for the left-back position. Kerkez is having a great season for Bournemouth, he recently got 2 assists in Bournemouth’s shocking victory over Manchester City.

The left-back position has been a talking point in Arne Slot’s team. Andy Robertson has not been up to his levels, his lack of pre-season could be the reason for that. However the club is looking to strengthen the left side of their defense.

Milos Kerkez on Liverpool radar

According to Anfield Watch, Liverpool have now asked for permission from Bournemouth to enter preliminary talks with the Hungarian full-back.

Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes brought Milos Kerkez to Bournemouth. So fans expect Liverpool to easily get the deal done.

Manchester united wanted to sign Kerkez last summer, however the £40m asking price from Bournemouth was too high for them. United decided to sign Mazraoui from Bayern Munich instead.

Milos Kerkez was Bournemouth’s best player in their 3-0 loss to Liverpool in September. Kerkez is the international teammate of Dominik Szoboszlai, both of them get on well on and off the pitch. His friendship with Szoboszlai might help his decision to join Anfield.

Currently there is no clarity whether the club is starting talks for a move in January or the summer. Milos kerkez is clearly a top target for the Reds.
