PSG have reportedly cooled their interest in Bayern’s Joshua Kimmich, handing Liverpool a major boost in their pursuit if the player.
PSG have been following Kimmich for a while now, but it is reported they have cooled their interest as they are satisfied with their midfield options.
Kimmich is out of contract next summer, and a new deal has not been agreed with Bayern Munich till now.
Liverpool looking to sign Joshua Kimmich
According to Caughtoffside, Liverpool and possibly other clubs have the advantage to sign Kimmich now as he is edging closer to be a free agent.
Liverpool are still in the market for a midfielder. Martin Zubimendi was their primary target, but failed to sign him as Zubimendi wanted to stay loyal to Real Sociedad, his boyhood club. Liverpool still remain interested in Zubimendi, but the deal is difficult
Joshua Kimmich is also a name appreciated by Liverpool, as the club believes he is a good and an affordable option. Kimmich is a versatile player and is really experienced, which could really help the Reds.
PSG still like Joshua Kimmich, but is not considered a priority. They will only move for Kimmich if any of their current midfielder were to leave as reported by Caughtoffside.
With PSG now out of the way, Liverpool now have less competition for Joshua Kimmich. But more clubs are expected to join the race if Bayern decide not renew the German midfielder’s contract..
