Liverpool Set to Snatch £75m Star as Van Dijk’s replacement after huge price drop!
The English international defender Marc Guehi has a current asking price of £75 million, which is expected to drop down making Liverpool rekindle their interest in him.
Guehi was strongly associated with Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle United during the summer transfer window.
Nevertheless, the 24-year-old remained at Selhurst Park, where he has since assumed the role of Crystal Palace captain in spite of the rumours.
As Guehi approaches his contract’s final year next summer, Football Insider predicts Liverpool will move to finally acquire his services.
Marc Guehi potential Van Dijk replacement for Liverpool
The left-footed center-back Guehi, is considered a top target by the Reds who have been looking for a long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk.
It’s reported that Guehi who started his career at Chelsea has no desire to go back to Stamford Bridge because he thinks better offers including from Liverpool will come from other places.
The England international was also pursued by Newcastle United in the summer but they were unable to match Palace’s high asking price.
Guehi is still a vital member of both Crystal Palace’s squad and the England national team where he contributed significantly to their recent string of clean sheets during the international break despite the latter’s difficulties early in the Premier League campaign.
A move next summer seems increasingly likely with his contract expiring and Liverpool looking to add defensive reinforcements.
Liverpool are in desperate need of adding a defensive reinforcement as van Dijk is into his 30s and Liverpool have a thin squad depth.
