Recently, Liverpool have been linked with Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka and the Reds could make a summer scoop for the English starlet.

The 20-year-old is having a good season so far in the English topflight for Arsenal. Moreover, the Englishman has already made a name for himself on the international stage.

Gunner’s hierarchy realizes that they have a talent on their hands. Therefore, getting him out of North London will be hard.

According to ESPN, Jurgen Klopp has kept a close eye on Saka’s progress.

And in January, it was first reported that Liverpool are interested in Saka. Moreover, the Merseyside giants are also willing to make a move in the future. The Arsenal winger’s current contract expires in the summer of 2024 and his club currently values him at 60 million.

Meanwhile, Goal’s Liverpool journalist Neil Jones speaking to RedmenTV, confirmed the Reds’ interest in Saka.

Neil Jones said:

Liverpool like him. I think that goes back to when he was in the youth team at Arsenal,

He’s a brilliant player. That first leg he played at Anfield was some performance. He really impressed a lot of people, a lot of Liverpool fans, I’m sure, that night.

If he’s out of contract at Arsenal then, of course, Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea, every club in Europe will be looking at it.

They [Arsenal] really do need to get into the Champions League this summer.

If they don’t do that, it suddenly becomes a bit of a Harry Kane situation – ‘he’s one of our own’, but how long is he going to sit and scratch around the Europa Conference League? Not dissimilar to Raheem Sterling at Liverpool

Saka has already made his mark in the Premier League and on the international stage at just the age of 20. And it is understood that the winger won’t be let go by Arsenal for cheap.

But if Gunners fails to qualify for next season’s Champions League or tie him down to a new deal that extends beyond 2024, there may be no choice but to cash in.

Is Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka a potential Mohamed Salah replacement?

Mohamed Salah’s contract extension beyond the summer of 2023 is a hot topic of discussion at the moment. The Liverpool star forward has been locked in negotiations with the club for some time, but the two parties are yet to reach an agreement.

Salah has been in blistering form so far this season with 23 goals and nine assists in 26 appearances.

And now with Liverpool linked with Saka, it is anticipated that the 20-year-old could potentially be Salah’s replacement moving forward.

Liverpool are already looking to the future in regards to the fact they bought Diogo Jota last season and Luis Diaz this January both 25 years old. And youngsters such as Harvey Eliott and Curtis Jones are being prioritized in the senior team.

Moreover, bringing someone like Saka from Arsenal to fill in the right-winger position at Liverpool completely fits the bill. Saka is a player who suits Liverpool’s style of play. He’s dynamic in terms of the way he converts chances and can also play in different positions.

A player of Saka’s caliber belongs to competing for the highest level and certainly, Liverpool are one of those clubs that can offer him that platform.
