Liverpool are reportedly interested in bringing La Masia starlet Pablo Martín Páez Gavira also known as Gavi.

Gavi became Spain’s youngest ever player when he made his debut for La Roja in UEFA Nations League on Wednesday night, against the Euro champions Italy.

The Spaniard, who’s just 17 years old, has attracted attention from clubs all around the world. The midfielder came from the ranks of La Masia and has already made his sensational breakout in the first team.

Moreover, Venezuelan outlet El Nacional, reports that Jurgen Klopp is impressed by his performances and is weighing up a possible move for the promising young talent. The Spanish playmaker has a €50 million release clause and his current deal expires in June 2023.

Can Liverpool bring Gavi to Anfield next summer?

The Catalans reportedly want to tie him down by offering a new contract as they consider him a key player. Moreover, the Reds will have to face competition from his other suitors. Apparently, Manchester United have also expressed their wish to sign the player. Thus, signing Gavi won’t be easy for the Reds.

It’s uncertain that the Catalans are ready to do business for the player. However, the club’s financial woes can instigate them to sell the player.

Gavi has made seven appearances for the club and has featured in the Champions League against Bayern and Benfica.

Liverpool didn’t make any key signings in this summer transfer, but they are already planning for the next transfer window. A player like Gavi will surely fit seamlessly into Klopp’s best eleven. Moreover, under the guidance of the Liverpool boss, Gavi could improve enormously. Thus, if Gavi joins the Reds it will be a win-win situation for both.

The player has a gifted technical ability and can work under high pressure too. Now it’s on Liverpool how they can convince Laporta & Co to sanction his signing.
