Liverpool have already made their first ‘signing’ of the summer as Jurgen Klopp confirms plan
As the transfer window approaches, a lot of attention has been given to the need for midfield reinforcements. Thus, Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp are now focusing on other midfield targets after pulling out of the race to sign Jude Bellingham.
The number of players who have been linked to the Merseyside club appears to be growing every day.
Even though that is unquestionably the area that requires the most attention this summer, Klopp’s senior team’s first addition will come in a completely different position.
As per The Athletic, Liverpool will not sign another right-back in the summer transfer window. Instead, the club will place their confidence in youngster Conor Bradley.
Bradley has been performing very well on loan at Bolton Wanderers this season. The 19-year-old has scored seven goals and provided six assists in 49 appearances.
In addition, he also helped the League One team in winning the Papa John’s Trophy. Bradley has also played a huge role in maintaining Bolton’s pursuit of Championship promotion.
Jurgen Klopp Reveals pre-season Plan for Young Liverpool right back
Klopp has confirmed that Bradley will be given a chance to impress in pre-season as soon as he returns from his loan spell at Bolton.
“The plan at the moment is to bring him back and keep him, but we will see,”
the German said.
“Bring him back, go in the pre-season and then enjoy the steps he made, then we will decide together what we are doing from that moment on.”
Everybody speaks positively about him,”
added Klopp.
“I think one and a half years ago only a few football nerds would have known about him and now everybody knows him. That’s cool and that’s the first step.
He is our boy, which I like a lot. A super mentality, which is extremely helpful, and all the rest will come and we are all pretty sure about that. So, that’s it.
Conor will be our player, but how it is in that age group, we have to see if it makes more sense for him going on loan after pre-season or not. We will decide that then and not now.”
If Bradley passes his preseason test, he might get a spot in the senior Liverpool team. This could save the club millions of dollars in the transfer market.
