Liverpool interest in ‘Next Mo Salah’ intensifies as Frankfurt official denies

Liverpool are continuously growing their interest in Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush but sporting director Markus Krosche fends off rumours.

The Reds have been performing exceptionally well under the managership of their new head coach Arne Slot.

Slot & Co. are currently topping both the Premier League points table and UEFA Champions League with a considerable amount of lead.

And like their other good season for the last six or seven seasons, Mohamed Salah has been one of the driving forces of this Merseyside squad.

The Egyptian King featured in 16 games for the Anfield giants across all competitions and has scored nine goals and assisted nine as well.

However, this fairytale might die soon at the end of the 2024-25 season as Salah is most likely to leave LFC.

Liverpool eyeing Omar Marmoush

The hunt for a Salah replacement started in the summer of 2023 and Federico Chiesa’s signing this summer solidified that statement.

However, the Egyptian star’s national counterpart, Omar Marmoush, has been a potential successor since the end of the 2023-24 season.

The Eintracht Frankfurt star is a regular starter for the German side and is also quite consistent with his performances.

The 25-year-old has appeared 15 times so far this season for SGE across all competitions and bagged 13 goals and nine assists (stats via Transfermarkt).

As reported by Florian Plettenberg in October, Frankfurt demand €50-60m for the Egyptian international. Both the player’s agent and LFC have already made contact.

More importantly, Marmoush is eager to play in the PL and is willing to join the Merseyside giants.

However, Frankfurt’s sporting director Markus Krosche has denied the possibility of the forward moving out by stating,

“I think Omar feels comfortable here so we shouldn’t always discuss the transfer window or possible transfers.”

Whether Liverpool continues with this transfer saga will be unfolded once the winter transfer window arrives.
