Liverpool have terminated Stefan Bajcetic loan spell at RB Salzburg, and have also completed their new plan for where the young midfielder will spend the rest of the campaign.
The Merseyside club are of the opinion that limited playing time was hindering Bajcetic’s progress and development, leading them to recall him from his loan at Salzburg before the close of the transfer window.
Bajcetic made a brief appearance in Salzburg’s 4-1 defeat at the hands of Atletico Madrid on Wednesday in the UCL.
The defeat also concluded their Champions League journey this campaign, as they managed just a single win in eight matches.
The 20-year-old made his 19th appearance for the Austrian club on the night, but it was his 11th from the bench, raising concerns over his limited game time.

What is the new plan for Bajcetic after termination of loan?
Liverpool have confirmed that the youngster has joined Spanish side Las Palmas for the rest of the season.
Bajcetic makes the move to Spain and will look to help the club in their bid to survive relegation from La Liga.
He is expected to play a significant role in the Los Amarillos’ midfield, especially with Jose Campana’s injury and the departures of midfielders [Ivan Gil and Fabio Gonzalez].
Bajcetic was reportedly sought after by Real Betis, Celta Vigo, Getafe and a host of other clubs. However, the decision was made to send him to the Gran Canaria.
A return to Spain for the Spanish U21 midfielder should offer him the perfect environment to rediscover his form after a challenging period of fitness struggles and limited opportunities while playing in Austria.
The Reds are said to see Bajcetic as part of their long-term plans, believing he has a significant role to play at the club in the future.
Las Palmas were one of Liverpool’s Spanish opponents during pre-season, and likely benefitted from the growing relationship between the two clubs in facilitating negotiations for Stefan Bajcetic’s loan move.
