In tonight’s UCL match against Bologna Liverpool may include 17-year-old Trey Nyoni in their lineup.

Head coach Arne Slot may look to the youthful talent to bolster the squad with important players like Federico Chiesa sidelined particularly after Nyoni showed promise in preseason and while training with players like Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk.

Liverpool young gem Nyoni in for UCL Night

Liverpool are known for being a place where talents are created into world-class potential players and harvesting the young talents at the highest levels.

But Liverpool must decide whether to start Nyoni in the Champions League or send him to play against Bologna’s under-19 team in the UEFA Youth League in order to give him more playing time and development.

High praise has been given to Nyoni by Slot who acknowledges his extraordinary talent while also stressing the need for him to keep improving.

Arne Slot said about Nyoni,

“I think what you say is true, he is a young player – really young, only just became 17, but with a lot of talent. He had some impact in pre-season and when he played against Seville he even scored a goal.

We might need him with the first team’ but it’s so, so important for him to keep playing his games.

we are aware of the fact he has just became 17 – and that’s probably also the reason why people see him as such a talent because he already showed some interesting things at this age.”

These words from Arne Slot, makes fan acknowledge that Slot is very careful in nurturing young talents like Nyoni and also the youngster has impressed the Dutchman

Though Slot points out that Nyoni has shown promise he still needs regular playing opportunities to advance.

Vitezslav Jaros the third-choice goalkeeper, could fill in as a substitute, if Nyoni is not included in the starting lineup for tonight’s game.
