Liverpool scout looking to secure move for talented forward
Liverpool are improving their efforts to sign Greek striker, Stefanos Tzimas as the Reds took another important step in a move to secure the services of the talented teenager with club chief scout, Barry Hunter in Germany to get the deal for the striker over the line as they look to bolster Slot’s attacking options.
Liverpool having held talks to sign the 19-year-old last week, have sent Barry Hunter to Germany in a bid to complete a £25m deal for the striker to make him the most expensive Greek teenager of all time.
Tzimas is a young forward currently on loan at Nurnberg in the German 2. Bundesliga [Germany’s second division] from Greek side PAOK.
Tzimas said in an interview with Kicker that “he dreams of a move to the English Premier League“ and would be open to an opportunity to link up with fellow Greek international Kostas Tsimikas.
The forward has developed incredibly over the last six months while working under the tutelage of former Germany international striker, Miroslav Klose, at Nurnberg.
Liverpool believes that the forward has great potential, and are looking to wrap up a deal for him before other clubs swoop in for his services.
The arrival of the 19-year-old could also be impacted by the Reds’ ability to sell Darwin Nunez during the transfer window this month.
Liverpool are considering the possibility of selling the striker after receiving a huge offer for the Uruguayan that was promptly rejected.
However, it is expected that clubs interested in acquiring the services of the 25-year-old will return with fresh bids for the player with his chapter at the club seemingly coming to an end.
