Liverpool boss Arne Slot opens up on what they did during Arsenal vs. Crystal Palace

Liverpool fans were on the edge of their seats this week alongside Arne Slot — but not during a game of their own.

Instead, they tuned in alongside their team to watch Arsenal take on Crystal Palace, a match that had the potential to seal the Premier League title for the Reds.

Manager Arne Slot shared that the entire Liverpool squad came together to watch the action unfold.

With Arsenal needing a win to keep pressure on the Reds, it was a game that could have changed the shape of the title race.

But when it ended in a draw, Liverpool edged even closer to glory.

What Arne Slot said?

Slot admitted it was a unique moment for the group. “Normally, when you watch a game of football, you are either alone or with family or friends. But we watched it all together,” he said.

Before kickoff, Slot was not expecting the match to end in a stalemate. “Before the game, I would have been surprised if the game ended in a draw. But during the game, I wasn’t because Crystal Palace again showed what this league is all about.”

Slot praised Palace’s fight and noted how tough the Premier League has been this season. He said the draw reflected the level of competition every team brings, week in and week out.

Liverpool now needs just one point from their game against Tottenham to officially become champions. It’s a big moment not just for the club, but for Slot personally, as he nears the end of a remarkable first season in charge.

“It’s a big responsibility because we are aware of the fact last time this club won the league it was Covid times,” he explained. “Everybody is looking forward to Sunday but there’s still a job to be done.”

While some have called this season less intense due to the lower points tally needed to win, Slot disagreed. “It’s never been as exciting for a top-five finish,” he said. “Maybe Liverpool, City, and Arsenal aren’t as good, or the other teams have got better.”
