Liverpool star was close to making history today

The Reds do not have their winning streak anymore, shortly after their disappointing 0-1 defeat. While most players did not impress, Trent Alexander-Arnold almost scored in Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest.

Liverpool’s vice-captain put all of his efforts today in the fourth match of the 2024-25 Premier League. However, things did not go as planned because he missed a goal kick that would have been legendary.

Whenever we think about corner kicks that made history, Trent’s name automatically comes to our minds. Especially after the 2019 stint he pulled off, which ultimately led to Divock Origi’s shots for defeating Barcelona.

Today, as Slot’s squad was playing against Nottingham, Liverpool fans expected Trent Alexander-Arnold to score a goal. It was just 35 minutes into the match, and the vice-captain tried to pull off a corner kick. It was a superb move, and Trent almost executed it perfectly, but, he was unable to score.

This scene took Matz Sels with a long breath of relief as he was watching the ball and averted it successfully. However, Liverpool fans are still overjoyed with Alexander-Arnold and his brilliant corner kick. Although the 25-year-old English football player received a 5 rating, he tried to do his best.

The midfielder took the corner near the Anfield Road Stand. The ball soared towards the goal perfectly, but Nottingham’s No. 26 handled it well. If only Alexander-Arnold scored directly from his corner shot, Liverpool would have made history.

This goal would have taken place among the legendary compilations in the Premier League history. The fans would have cherished this audacious effort for years to come.
