Liverpool have gotten their rhythm going on the pitch and their major redevelopment at Anfield suggests that the things off the pitch are going great too.

After 5 wins in their last 5 PL games, and Man Utd losing to Brighton in the midweek, a top 4 looks possible still intact. If this isn’t good news to the Liverpool faithful, the recent images show the redevelopment at Anfield Stadium.

The Anfield Road end is expected to open at the start of next season. This would extend the stadium’s capacity to 61,000 seats.

As per Liverpool’s vice president of stadium operations, Paul Cuttill, the Anfield Road end expansion will likely be finished in time for the start of the 2023–24 Premier League season. Should everything go according to the plan, Liverpool would be able to start the next season as planned.

The Reds wouldn’t have to request that the Premier League stage their opening matches of the 2023–24 season away from Anfield. However, this was the case at the start of the 2016–17 season while they awaited the Main Stand project’s completion.

Anfield Road project of Liverpool FC: 7000 additional seats to be added

According to The Athletic, the project is said to have cost a total of nearly €90m. Moreover, it is the latest development at Anfield in recent times following the rebuilding of the Main Stand between 2015 and 2016.

Besides, the previous expansion took the stadium capacity to 53,000. However, this was still behind the capacity numbers of rival clubs’ stadiums like Man Utd, Man City, and Arsenal.

Thus, the redevelopment of the Anfield Road end, the stand directly opposite the world-famous Kop, will see the ground become the country’s third biggest club stadium in terms of capacity when the project is finally complete.

Previously, Anfield Road was redeveloped back in the 1990s. But this revamp will see an additional 7000 seats added to the existing capacity. In that, however, around 5200 would be general admission seats while around 1,800 seats with a sports bar lounge and hospitality facilities.
