Jurgen Klopp is still unsure of which players can play although Ibrahima Konate has been suggested as a potential starter for Tuesday’s match between Liverpool and Napoli.

The Reds face the Group A leaders in a matchup on Wednesday. And both teams have already qualified for the Champions League round of 16.

Liverpool would need a four-goal swing to finish first in the group ahead of Napoli. And after the 2-1 loss to Leeds at the weekend, expectations are undoubtedly low.

There are rumors that Klopp would use rotation to keep his star players fresh for the match against Tottenham on Sunday. This is because there are only three days between the two games and little to play for.

Klopp not sure about starting Konate

When asked about Konate’s prospects of starting, the manager reiterated that it was “not a game for major rotation,”. But he did make a passing reference to one potential alteration.

Klopp added, We are incredibly fortunate to have him back. Konate was ready for the team before. And perhaps now is the time for him to play. He trained fully normally yesterday, which is really beneficial. He has now got a whole week, eight, or nine days, to train every day. He’s definitely a choice because that’s obviously extremely good.

There were worn-out legs all across the Anfield field as Klopp only made one change to his team between the win over Ajax and the loss to Leeds, replacing Jordan Henderson with Thiago.

This time around, there will probably be more changes. But Klopp has said he won’t use a lot of substitutions since he wants to win.

Klopp is not entirely aware of the situation with the players who played against Leeds because, first and foremost, it’s been a relatively rapid turnaround since we played Leeds. He is still waiting for that exact moment. We definitely won’t take chances. But if you follow football at all, you probably already know that Napoli is in fantastic shape, plays fantastic football, tops the Italian table. And may perhaps be the best team in Europe right now.
