Liverpool are looking forward to bring Nice’s in-form striker Amine Gouiri to Anfield. In the summer transfer window of 2020, the 21-year-old striker moved to Nice from the French club Lyon. He plays a smart roll in the attack with Nice. Moreover, scoring 16 goals in his debut season, Gouiri has attracted a lot of eyes across Europe.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has requested to Liverpool board for signing Gouiri next summer. The Reds only have four proper strikers in the sqaud namely Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino. Thus, the former Premier League champions need some firepower in the midfield. As they rely a lot on their front line for goals.

Gouiri has signed a four-year deal with Nice. His current deal will expire in 2024. He has a good pace and dribbling ability. He already scored four goals in his four appearances in his current season with the French club. The Frenchmen had an amazing first season with Nice, while getting himself on the scoresheet 16 times he also registered 8 assists to his name.

While he was playing for Lyon, Gouiri was unable to get much game time. Thereafter, Nice give him an opportunity and asked to play alongside with team. He grabbed that opportunity with both hands and become the most consistent striker in the team. He also amazed Nice fans with his skills and become a valuable player for his team.

Is Gouiri a good option for Liverpool?

Gouiri has already proven himself in Ligue 1 with Nice. Thus, Making 46 appearances the French international has shown that he can remain consistent. However, playing in the Premier League is never easy considering the pace and strength. But the Nice forward has shown the power, strength, pace and dribbling abilities he possesses while playing in Ligue 1. Moreover, he’ll be a good long-term investment if Liverpool bids for the player.

Gouiri also has the ability to play in two positions on the field. Nice use him on the left-wing and sometimes as a centre forward too. After seeing his creative abilities Klopp has asked Liverpool to sign Gouiri.

It could prove to be a good option for the Reds as Liverpool might be requiring an attacking versatile player to strengthen their squad. Thus, Amine Gouiri will be one of the major transfer targets for Liverpool next summer.
