Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp shared some key points from the Liverpool vs Villarreal press conference for the 1st leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final.
As the Reds are in the UCL last 4 stages, they have their upcoming match against the Spanish side Villarreal who shockingly knocked out Bayern Munich.
Meanwhile, Liverpool thumped Benfica in the quarter-final in both the legs and are looking forward to winning their match against Villarreal.
Liverpool and Villarreal have met twice before as they played in the UEFA Europa League semi-final against each other where Liverpool knocked them out and went to play against the final with Unai Emery’s Sevilla. However, Jurgen Klopp’s side was unable to get better of the Emery’s Sevilla as the Reds lost the final.
Stats are against the Spanish side, as Villarreal have not managed to win any of their last 8 away games in England in all competitions since a 2-1 victory in Merseyside over Everton back in 2005.
Key takeaways from Jurgen Klopp’s pre-match press conference: Liverpool vs Villarreal
- Playing at home is something that any Red will enjoy as Anfield knows how to support their players and suppress the opposition. Klopp is expecting the fans to give the Spanish side a tough time as this will surely be the biggest night for the Reds.

- Villarreal will be arriving at Anfield after knocking some big teams like Juventus and Bayern Munich and the Liverpool boss knows that this team should not be taken lightly as Unai Emery has a plan for everything.
I had a lot of respect for Unai Emery and Villarreal before, but now I watch them properly and wow, impressive. Unai looks like a detailed obsessed manager who prepares for all situations and that’s what his team is executing.

- Moreover, Klopp believes that every game should be played as if it was a final and Liverpool have applied this in the Premier League last season when they somehow managed to be in the top 4 with 14 points behind and having only 2 games in hand.
Each game is a final and each should be a final, it will not change until someone says it’s not worth fighting anymore.
