The current Covid outbreak in England is spreading rapidly and affecting all the clubs. Liverpool are also one of the clubs affected by the current outbreak of the Virus. Klopp is not sure about the FA cup game against Shrewsbury Town. Covid has cost a lot of points for Liverpool this season in the title race.
Virgil Van Dijk, Fabinho, Thiago Alcantara and Curtis Jones were affected by covid. And have to miss the Tottenham game. The boxing day fixture was postponed due to more covid cases in Leeds. Liverpool were not at their best against the Foxes as they lost 1-0 at King Power Stadium. With Allison, Joel Matip and Roberto Firmino were confirmed positive before the Chelsea game ruling them out of the 2 – 2 draw.

On Matchday, a magazine is being released by the club before every game. It is sent to all the subscribers and you can also buy them as hard or soft copies. Jurgen Klopp on his matchday program
I have to address this immediately,
This is one of the strangest programme columns I’ve ever written because I have no idea if I will be in the stadium with you, leading my team in person – or watching from home.
In all the years I’ve been writing the Liverpool matchday programme – and I started working on it in 2002 – we’ve never had a situation like this.
They’ve only got three confirmed cases of Covid’. I won’t insult anyone’s intelligence, but did they genuinely think Liverpool’s AXA Training Centre was closed down by the local public health authority due to three cases? Can people not read between the lines anymore?
The Boss return is all dependent on the results of his lateral flow tests. If not then the most senior member of staff without COVID-19 (currently Peter Krawietz) will be in charge of the team.
With Salah, Mane and Keita gone for AFCON and players getting affected by Covid-19, this will be a really tough test for the Reds.
