Jurgen Klopp explains a late decision about Darwin Nunez fitness

Prior to Saturday’s trip to Nottingham Forest, Jurgen Klopp said that Liverpool will make a last-minute decision about the fitness of Darwin Nunez.
A Darwin Nunez fitness issue prior to the matchday
Nunez was substituted less than an hour into his game-winning performance against West Ham. And Klopp has now revealed the reason behind it. As he explained that there had been hamstring issues that the Uruguayan was going through during half-time.
During the break time, everyone with regard to Darwin reportedly stated, “No, it’s OK, it’s fine, “ but afterward the manager expressed anxiety.
Nunez was taken off the turf for Harvey Elliott, and Klopp justified the change as a “precaution.”
However, the 23-year-old was not engaged in outdoor recovery training at the AXA Training Center on Thursday, and Klopp expressed uncertainty over the Uruguayan’s availability against Forest in his pre-game press conference.
A sign of concernfor the Reds?
Even if Darwin Nunez doesn’t make the injury bench, a concern in Klopp’s mind wouldn’t be unusual at all. The starting lineup didn’t pick any injuries in their last match against the Hammers. However, with an injury marathon going on this season for the Reds, fatigue is a big issue too. And checking up on who can start the next match and who should be rested is indeed a wise decision to be taken by a wise man.
Nunez’s excellence prior to the World Cup
Just in time for the World Cup, Darwin Nunez is beginning to rediscover his scoring touch.
With his goal in the first half of Wednesday’s 1-0 Premier League victory against West Ham, Uruguay’s striker has now scored in three of his previous four games. It is his finest scoring streak since moving to Liverpool from Benfica.
Nunez has shown his versatility by scoring a variety of goals. In the 22nd minute, he rose above his opponents to tip in a beautiful header. While the Greek Scouser placed the ball perfectly for him.
Three days after defeating Manchester City by the same score on a considerably more heated occasion, Liverpool returned to Anfield and registered another 1-0 victory.
However, Nunez also hit the post with a dipping shot in the first half. And it’s only the tip of the iceberg of what’s coming from the former Benfica man.
