Jurgen Klopp confirms another injury in Liverpool camp ahead of Everton clash

Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp confirms Thiago Alcantara is sidelined due to injury before the Merseyside Derby at Anfield.
The Spaniard faces a race against time to be fit for Monday’s Merseyside derby. While Diogo jota is on the brink of a much-anticipated Liverpool comeback.
But the Reds will not take any risk over the fitness of Roberto Firmino, Virgil van Dijk, and Arthur Melo after the trio returned to training on the pitch at the AXA Training Centre this week.
Alcantara is still doubtful for the match against Everton as he struggles to overcome a hip problem.
Diogo Jota who has not featured since suffering a calf injury in mid-October, made a return to full training last week and has been part of the main group this week.
Thiago injury update
Klopp said on the Spaniard’s injury
“Thiago has some problems. I know the problem but I have to ask if I am allowed to say about it! Hip flexor, stuff like this. So he was not able to train.”
It is a frustrating blow for the Red’s boss as the 31-year-old has been one of the few constants in Klopp’s side in recent months. The Spaniard started all 10 games since the World Cup break and 16 of the last 19 in all competitions.
Liverpool’s no. 6 has played 14 matches in the Premier League where he has a PrgC of 12 and PrgP of 107 according to FBref.in.
Other than the ex-Barcelona player, Luiz Diaz has publicized his hope of making a return from injury in time for the English side’s trip to Real Madrid next month.
The Merseyside derby is always been a heated event between the two clubs. The last time when they met it ended with a frustrating 0-0 draw at Goodison Park.
The Reds need to win this match to come back to winning ways before they face the Spanish giants, Real Madrid in the knockout stage of the Champions League.
