Football Journalist James Pearce has given insight into the club’s transfer plans for the January transfer window.

There has been a lot of discussion about the plans that Liverpool have for the ongoing transfer window, and Liverpool FC reporter for The Athletic, James Pearce has indicated the club’s position on making signings this month.

Concerning the Reds’ transfer window, James Pearce stated “Liverpool’s stance is that they will only make a signing this month if there is a deal to be done that makes sense financially and is in the club’s long-term interests.”

Will Liverpool make signings during the January transfer window?

According to reports from journalist, James Pearce, the club has maintained that they will only pursue a signing this month if the deal is financially viable and aligns with the club’s long-term goals.

It remains to be seen whether the club will make any signings during this transfer window.

Although, the January market has been quiet so far for the Reds’, there has been a lot of news and reports linking the club to quite a number of players.

Liverpool had been keeping an eye on the recent developments regarding Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The Georgia international, who had asked to leave the Italian club this month, and was wanted by several top European clubs, has however been reported by Fabrizio Romano, that Paris Saint-Germain have reached a verbal agreement in principle with Napoli for him.

This of course means that the Georgian winger is no longer available as an option for the Reds this winter.

According to the Northern Echo, the Reds have indicated a willingness to use Ben Doak in a potential deal to sign Bournemouth forward, Antoine Semenyo.

The club have already rejected offers from Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town this transfer window for the teenager who is currently on loan at Middlesbrough.

It is alleged that the Ghanaian forward is seen as a long-term attacking option by Liverpool, but the club do not want to pay the £50m price tag slapped on him by Bournemouth, and could include Ben Doak in a deal to secure the services of Semenyo.

Another player who has also been touted for a move to the Arne Slot’s team is Greek international, Stefanos Tzimas, who plays for Nurnberg in Germany’s second tier.

There have been reports that Liverpool chief scout, Barry Hunter, is in Germany to complete the transfer of the teenager to the club after successful talks were held with the player’s representatives last week.
