Football Journalist reveals the positions for Liverpool’s next transfer targets ahead of the upcoming summer window.

Veteran football journalist, David Lynch has announced the positions in which he feels Liverpool and Arne Slot would consider boosting in the summer transfer window which begins in July.

While speaking to Sports Mole, Lynch revealed that the club is aware of the gaps in their squad and argued that links to PSG-bound Khvicha Kvaratskhelia prove that Liverpool will continue to prioritize top targets across Europe and the rest of the world.

Since Arne Slot took charge in July 2024, the Reds have only made one addition to the squad, being Italian Forward, Federico Chiesa who joined in at the start of the 2024-25 season.

Positions for Liverpool’s next transfer targets?

Liverpool were dealt a blow earlier this week as reports surfaced that Kvaratskhelia would be joining Paris Saint-Germain, as manager, Arne Slot was eager on reinforcing his attack.

David Lynch also revealed while speaking to Sports Mole: “the club recognise that a left-back’s got to come in the next couple of windows. Central midfield is still an area of the pitch that the manager thinks he could strengthen.”

Liverpool recognising the need for a left-back comes as no surprise, as long-serving defender Andrew Robertson, has come under scrutiny for his performances this season. While Ryan Gravenberch is enjoying a fine campaign at the base of the Reds’ midfield, he has had to play so many matches and currently looks fatigued at the heart of midfield.

Although fans have criticised the club for its relatively low spending compared to other teams in recent years, Liverpool have also earned praise for mostly securing the right players, and there is little doubt that the Reds will act decisively if one of their top targets becomes available.
