Liverpool star opens up about brutal sub against Ipswich

Right now, LFC has one of the best lineups in their squad, thanks to Slot’s training regime and tactics. However, Jarell Quansah hated how he faced a sudden substitution just after halftime by Arne Slot in their first match against Ipswich.

This is not the first time a Red did not like a decision from the new Anfield Boss. Recently, Trent Alexander-Arnold also expressed frustration after getting subbed at the 72nd minute.

Jarell Quansah speaks about Arne Slot and his decision

The last Premier League match against Man Utd proves a lot about the Dutchman and his tweaks in playing tactics. However, we saw him substituting the popular young LFC defender after 45 minutes against Ipswich Town.

While talking about this to The Times, he admitted what Quansah felt. He didn’t like the fact that he had to face a sub right at the half time. Jarell Quansah revealed that he was initially not okay with Arne Slot replacing him.

“It’s a long season, I have the whole season to prove myself. It’s given me a kick up the backside, you could say. I’ll keep grafting on the training pitch and that’s all it is.

It’s never a nice feeling as a footballer to be subbed off at half-time but at the end of the day it was the gaffer’s decision and it was the right one”

Jarell Quansah went on to add that Arne Slot made the right decision to sub him. The 21-year-old Liverpool Defender understood his weaker areas where he needs to improve himself.

“The next day he pulled me in. Basically, he just went through his mindset and why he made the decision, ultimately.

I think the reasons he gave me were fair enough. It obviously worked because we won, so I can only focus on myself, improve myself, kick forward and move on to the next game.”
