After Liverpool got defeated 1-0 by Nottingham Forest on Saturday, Jamie Carragher wants Ibrahima Konate back. Liverpool seemed to have returned.
After a weak start to the season, 1-0 home victories over Manchester City and West Ham United in a short period of time lifted emotions at Anfield.
Liverpool appeared to have a great opportunity to win three games in a row when they travelled to Nottingham Forest. However, they once again struggled.
In a game against a wasteful Liverpool team, former Reds striker Taiwo Awoniyi scored the lone goal to give Forest all three points.
Regularity of Ibrahima Konate?
Liverpool had several opportunities. But they either missed their best opportunities or were unable to outperform Dean Henderson in the Forest goal. The combination of Awoniyi, Jesse Lingard, and Morgan Gibbs-White on the counterattack also gave the Reds issues.
Incredibly, Liverpool has already lost more games in their first 11 games of this season. It is more than they did through the whole previous one. Even if Jurgen Klopp and some may believe that the loss at Forest was unfortunate, Liverpool’s problems are obviously not yet resolved.
After the game, Jamie Carragher pleaded for defender Ibrahima Konate to come back on Twitter while questioning Fabinho’s performance this year.
What is to come?
Konate is merely out for a minor muscle issue and is scheduled to return to practice on Monday. Konate has had a difficult season thus far.
Ibrahima Konate was hampered by a preseason injury. And after making an appearance against Arsenal and starting against Rangers, he suffered yet another setback. The Frenchman has always impressed whenever given an opportunity to play for Liverpool. And with Joel Matip still sidelined due to injury, Konate may return to the starting lineup for Liverpool after a few days of practice.
