“It’s not nonsense” Liverpool midfielder responds to manager’s comments
Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has responded to the comments made by his manager Ronald Koeman. The Netherlands coach accused Gravenberch of being ‘lazy’ and ‘lacking concentration’.
Ryan Gravenberch’s Liverpool career under new manager Arne Slot has gotten off to a good start. Gravenberch started in all three Premier League and has cemented the No.6 spot in his name. His recent performance against Manchester United has earned him good praise.
Ryan Gravenberch responds to the comments made by Ronald Koeman
Koeman had made comments about Gravenberch’s discipline earlier this week, although he praised him for his performance against Manchester United.
Speaking to De Telegraaf Gravenberch responded to the comments made by Koeman.
Gravenberch said: “It’s not nonsense; everyone has their own opinion. People say about me that I’m a bit nonchalant. That’s just in me. Now I have that nonchalance too, but people don’t really talk about it, because things are going well at Liverpool.”
Ryan Gravenberch could have easily hit back at Ronal Koeman for his comments. But the 22-year-old decided to take a different approach and let his performance do the talking.
Gravenberch is not a regular starter on the Dutch national team, unlike his clubmates Virgil Van Dijk and Cody Gakpo. He was part of the Dutch Euro 2024 squad but did not play a single minute. However with him now consistently starting for his club there are chances Koeman can try playing him more regularly in the Dutch midfield.
Gravenberch starting at the No.6 position for Liverpool after the club failed to sign a defensive midfielder in the summer. Needless to say Gravenberch’s game has levelled up under Arne Slot.
