Darwin Nunez slaps back at all the criticism
Before the Manchester City match, Liverpool manager Arne Slot brought in Darwin Nunez for the game against Aston Villa. In the Aston Villa match, Nunez was brought in after the 70-minute mark.
In that match, also the 25-year-old showed his work rate and gave a perfect reply to all the criticism that was going on against him.
There is no doubt that Darwin Nunez is having a difficult season with the Reds. The 25-year-old only scored 6 goals and registered 4 assists in this campaign. In the Premier League, he started only seven matches out of 22 appearances.
Recently Liverpool captain Virgil Van Dijk gave his reaction in this matter on the work rate of Darwin Nunez. According to Thisisanfield the Liverpool captain said,
“The players who came on Wednesday [against Newcastle] made an impact and that is what we need to continue like this.
Against Newcastle, he showed a great reaction in his work rate when he came into action. That should be the minimum, he knows it and he has to continue like this.”
As a Liverpool player, the work rate is the bare minimum and every player in the squad understands this. Darwin Nunez also understands this and we might see more from him in the future.
