Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that the Brazilian striker, Roberto Firmino, is out of today’s squad for a clash against Fulham.

Klopp said that the number 9 still has a muscle injury, and has been out of action since the 6-1 win against Leeds.

It was expected that the 31-year-old would be ready against the Cottagers. But those hopes have been shut down by Klopp who spoke to the press.

“Bobby (Firmino) is training, he’s not ready for the game. It’s pretty much the same for Naby.”

Firmino has come clutch to Liverpool this season and even though his role has been reduced due to the signing of Darwin Nunez from Benfica, he has produced 11 goals in all competitions, most of them very crucial for the Reds.

However, the striker has revealed that he would be leaving Liverpool at the end of this season to seek a new challenge, bringing his 8-year stint at the club, to an end.

The Brazilian has been a huge part of Klopp’s success in recent years. He has thrived in a defensive striker role under Klopp. The ex-Hoffenheim man won every trophy for Liverpool and would now become a free agent this summer.

Roberto Firmino injury becoming a major concern?

Since sustaining a muscle injury in their victory over Leeds, the Brazilian has been out for three games. With Klopp confirming that he would not be in the squad against Fulham, the 31-year-old would be missing his 4th game in a row.

It seemed as if the striker would be back for their Spurs clash, last weekend. However, it now seems that Firmino’s injury could be worse than first imagined.

Whilst the attacker is now back in training, fans are within their right to be worried about how long the Brazilian will be out if he is not back this weekend to face Brentford.

It has not been a great season for Liverpool and injuries have been the main reason. Luis Diaz was the latest long-term injured player to return against Spurs, while Thiago also returned from a hip injury.

Moreover, Klopp has also confirmed that Naby Keita would be out for the Fulham game as well. Currently, in 5th place, the Reds would be battling till the end to secure a top 4 spot.

Fulham, however, have had a great season under Marco Silva and currently sits in 10th place after being promoted last season. They won the Championship with 90 points last season under the Portuguese.

In their last match, they put up a brave fight against the champions, Man City. However, they lost to the Sky Blues in a narrow 2-1 loss.

With the recent form of Liverpool, they are expected to come victorious in this clash at Anfield.
