Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is once again in the spotlight as speculation grows about his next move.
Despite stepping away from football, Klopp continues to be a top candidate for major coaching roles, with the German national team seen as a natural fit for him.
After nine successful years at Anfield, Klopp decided to take a break in 2024, having led Liverpool to their first Premier League title in 30 years, as well as lifting the Champions League, FA Cup, and League Cup.
Despite turning down offers, including one from the U.S. national team, Klopp’s name remains hot in football circles.
Voller hints Jurgen Klopp return
Rudi Voller, Germany’s sporting director, recently shared his thoughts on the possibility of Klopp taking over the national team if current manager Julian Nagelsmann ever decides to return to club football. Voller didn’t hold back in praising the former Liverpool boss during an interview with ZDF’s Sportstudio.
“There is no need to hide the fact that Jurgen Klopp has an incredible CV,” said Voller.
“If Julian were to decide at some point that he wanted to take over a top club in Germany or Europe again, there would be no way past Jurgen, that’s for sure. If that is what he wants.”
Voller’s remarks suggest that while Nagelsmann has been a breath of fresh air for the team, Klopp is undeniably the man for the job if the position becomes vacant.
With Klopp enjoying his time off, it remains to be seen if he’ll trade his relaxed post-Liverpool life for the high-pressure role of managing his home country.
For now, the rumours will only intensify, and it looks like there may be no way past Klopp in Germany’s future.
